Dental implants are more popular today than in years past. This is in part due to the improved technology in manufacturing and placement techniques. The primary reason to place an implant(s) is to replace missing or extracted teeth.

This allows for normal function, better esthetics and easier maintenance. In certain circumstances, implants can be employed to improve denture retention and function. The intricacies of placing implants can range from incredibly simple to incredibly complex. A careful evaluation of the location, supporting bone and supporting structures (nerves, blood vessels and sinus cavities) must be done prior to implant placement.
